Project Strategy
When were asked to step into the hotel site, it was clear the project wasn’t about creating something new—it was about protecting the integrity of what already existed and blending it into the Symphony Park development. This would be the first Las Vegas dual branded hotel.
The surrounding city walkways had a language of their own. The proportions were familiar, the joints intentional, the edges subtle. Any new work had to disappear into that context, not compete with it. For all of us involved in design and installation, that kind of restraint is often the hardest challenge—and the most rewarding when it’s done right.
Our scope was simple in words but complex in execution: design, procure, and install a landscape paver system that matched the existing city pavers perfectly. Not “close.” Not “inspired by.” A true match.
That meant maintaining absolute consistency in:
Size – be precise
Thickness – a true 2”
Micro bevel – subtle, controlled, and visually quiet
Overall finish – modern, clean, and intentionally not historic
Off-the-shelf solutions weren’t going to work. The combination of size, micro bevel, and 2” thickness simply didn’t exist in a standard product. The risk was obvious: introduce something slightly off, and the entire design language would fracture.
That’s where the collaboration made the project special.
Daltile stepped up and came to the party, working through a fully custom paver solution that answered every design requirement. The result wasn’t a workaround—it was a purpose-built paver that respected the original vision and extended it seamlessly. We were able to coordinate our work with the store front window base and rebar system and then do our installation of the cultured stone veneered cladding with our partners Mapei.
From installation to final walkthrough, the new work blends so naturally into the site that most people will never notice it—and that’s exactly the point. The success of the project lives in the quiet confidence of consistency.
