Project Strategy

Very Complex new Studio for NBC Sports for broadcasting their new NBA package. This new 5,000sf studio included platform construction by Mystic Custom Fabrication (Studio GC), to integrate the 7 pattern Tarkett vinyl tile/plank and CNC cut insets accents into the design intent with large LED ad Video floor tiles. The Complex design was created by Bryan at HD Studio, we helped with dozens of Tarkett vinyl tile samples for initial review, selections were then narrowed down, and additional samples coated with urethane high gloss application for further camera testing, and final product style and color selections. We then provided CAD estimating and layout options with the available sizes of each selected style to help keep seams aligned and to provide overall pattern layout with largest formats to help minimize small fill prices in the design and layouts. The complex 7 style/color pattern installation was handled by our INSTALL certified installation team, which comes with a plethora of award-winning studio install experience. Installation was aided by Mystics expertise in CNC pre-cutting small accent insets and providing CNC radius templates to aide in condensed field install schedule. Ardex feather was used to skim over all raised plywood platform to ensure the smoothest possible surface. Spraylock 6500 adhesive was used to prevent impressions or adhesive dispersion due to the heavy camera rolling loads, as well as ease of usage allowing laying out of vinyl patterns, cutting in the 7 style/color pattern. Ram Board protection then allows immediate use and protection required for rest of the studio construction with studio scenery walls, LED and Video panels and floor tiles.
