Project Strategy
Beverly Hills Middle School was founded in 1930, over the years it was expanded and modernized to meet the evolving needs of the areas growing population. Student body is over 1,500 students with over 70 nationalities representing the diverse student body. The plans for renovations of the school came about in a rapid fashion with the school reaching out to Melissa Carnival (Account Executive) of Tarkett for help in early spring, to see if materials and installation services could be coordinated for an aggressive summer (June through Mid Aug) 2025 full reno and completion. Melissa called our PA office and asked Scott our Special Project's PM is it was at all possible. With a quick Cad Takeoff to help Melissa with product quantities (77,000sf of classrooms / 8,000sf of corridors / 11,000sf of cafeteria /15,000 ln ft of wall base, and stair treads), she went to work with PZS Architects on Tarkett product selections with request from school to incorporate the schools purple and gold color scheme. A 3-color pattern of Contour series vinyl tile was quickly selected, and orders were quickly released by early May.
Project included the full removal of the existing 90,000sf of VCT with offsite haul away, shot blasting and double skim coating, and 3 color pattern installation throughout, 15,000 ln ft of new Johnsonite wall base, and new stair treads. The project was fully completed with all on site coordination direct with the Schools Director of Operation and Facilities. This successful project was fully a team effort. We thank Beverly Hills School for in trusting in Tarkett and us to pull it off..
