Project Strategy

The renovation of False Creek Healthcare Centre represents a highly complex healthcare flooring project defined by access constraints, adaptive reuse, and precision execution within a dense urban environment. Unlike new-build healthcare facilities, this project required flooring installation to be completed within an existing structure, where limited staging areas, restricted deliveries, and tight sequencing significantly increased the level of difficulty.

The scope included exceptional homogenous healthcare resilient sheet vinyl and specialized non-slip flooring and wall systems, selected to meet the most stringent, modern clinical requirements for infection control, durability, acoustic comfort, and patient safety.

These systems were installed across a variety of treatment, consultation, and patient-facing spaces, each with unique functional demands. Extensive preparation was required to address existing substrates, elevation changes, and legacy conditions, ensuring the new flooring assemblies met current performance standards without compromising continuity or aesthetics.

Execution demanded close coordination, disciplined scheduling, and meticulous detailing. Particularly at transitions, thresholds, and confined areas where tolerance for error was minimal. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver technically demanding healthcare installations within renovation environments, supporting the expansion of essential medical services while meeting the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and long-term performance.

Unique Installation Challenge Strategy

When flooring must adapt to a finished surgical environment, precision becomes the installation.

From the installer’s perspective, the flooring installation at the False Creek HealthCare Centre was defined by execution under permanent constraints. Completed within an active urban surgical clinic, the project allowed limited access, minimal staging, and zero tolerance for rework. Every decision had to be correct the first time.

Substrate preparation was executed selectively in very confined areas, requiring careful judgement to correct localized conditions without impacting adjacent finishes.

What made this installation unique was the level of finish accountability. All transitions, corners, and terminations were fully exposed and permanent, demanding absolute accuracy. Sequencing was planned in short, controlled phases, to align with inspections and equipment commissioning.

This project highlights how installer expertise and craftsmanship are essential when flooring must integrate seamlessly into a fully realized surgical environment.

Imagine many trades in a small, tight environment being scrutinized daily. Not only was it a private clinic install but the owner desired only the best products for their environments, floor to ceiling. Naturally the installations had to match the quality and perception. For some companies pressure like this can cause mistakes. Just another example of how the our team rose to the challenge!
