Project Strategy

This was the First Project in North America that featured the recently launched Milliken Nibi Collection - a Beautiful Collection designed by Indigo Arrows designer and owner Destiny Seymour.
The architect, Northern Sky Architecture, saw a LinkenIn post by Milliken showcasing the collection before it was officially launched, and after a presentation and watching a captivating video showing the backstory behind the inspiration to the designs, the Nibi Collection was specified to be used.

This collection honors Indigenous culture, history, and design. Drawing its namesake from the Anishinaabemowin word for ‘water,’ Nibi embodies a spirit of resilience, renewal and restoration. Designed by First Nation interior designer, Destiny Seymour, this collection represents an inclusive movement to protect our water sources across Turtle Island among Indigenous nations. After visiting a local museum showcasing ancient Indigenous ceramics and bone tools, Seymour drew inspiration from the intricate patterns, reinterpreting the markings to craft her own unique design. Featuring five patterns and six colors, this collection is a manifestation of handmade history.


The project consisted of over 20,000sft of carpet to be Installed in 3 separate buildings, all to be installed concurrently and within a tight time frame. With hard work from all, the buildings were completed, and has opened up an opportunity for Milliken to have their product specified for over 55 locations.
