Project Strategy

The vision:

The coastal city of Santa Monica houses an incredible business landscape, that contributes to its vibrant and diverse community. In 2025, an international dealer made way into the west coast, choosing Santa Monica to set foot in a new market. Born from Mexican-based athletic retailer Innovasport, Culto Futbol provides the perfect base for soccer superfans to find their next sports gear. The rapid growth of the brand led to their expansion in the west, with their very first flagship location in Santa Monica, CA where our expertise was called on to install the flooring.

From estimation and budgeting to procurement and installation, our team of craftsmen and project staff managed this project seamlessly, working alongside our longtime partner, JRM Construction West as we prepared an international client for the American West. The goal was to maintain an industrial ambiance to complement the open ceilings and incorporate a pop of class, so wooden floors were laid to contrast the earth-toned theme set by the design team. Upon entering the store, customers are met by Mohawk’s Hot and Heavy LVT in the color Bolder – a perfect selection for a sleek and classic look. To coordinate with the industrial look of the entryway, Bolder’s sister LVT in the color Secoya was installed in open spaces near mannequins and benches to widen the pathway and ease wayfinding for those browsing the merchandise. Through the ends of the store, Tarkett Johnsonite wall base was installed at the foot of the faux brick accent walls that paired with the concrete-style LVT. All through the building, Mohawk’s M95 Adhesive was used to install the LVT for its absence of odor and zero calculated VOC content.
