Project Strategy
The end user has been utilizing Mohawk as the flooring manufacturer of choice for their growing national operations for several years. Now it was time to expand into a new Headquarters location in Omaha, NE. They wanted to use brand colors—along with complementary hues—to clearly designate and differentiate areas throughout the space. Initially, the Mohawk design team played a central role - directing the overall layout and working closely with Milan's design team to bring the concept to life with 2-D renderings.
The project became more time sensitive when completion dates and budgets were established. We were able to assist in accelerating the process of evaluating layouts that would meet the intended budget. The process involved several renditions as ideas were tested, refined, and aligned with both aesthetic goals and functional needs. Each revision brought the project closer to a solution that balanced brand identity, spatial clarity, and design impact. This required several members of our team's uninterrupted dedication over the course of several days to establish scope that met budget and timeline for the project, refining Mohawk's design team renderings. Our turnaround on revisions allowed quicker evaluation of budget and design alignment decisions for the end user.
At the heart of this project was the strength of relationships: Mohawk’s and our established partnership with the client, created a true all-star team. Our expertise in fine-tuning detail for value engineering and coordinating an impeccable installation was critical to delivering a successful outcome on a tight timeline.
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
We helped the end user (directly) identify materials previously selected between them and Mohawk (we have a direct relationship with Milan) feasibility on meeting their and GC/move in deadlines.
There were very specific layout details for bordering carpet around work areas based on existing conditions and new occupant design vision.
The GC was successful in meeting timeframe due to our early involvement in budgeting, our relationship with the end user, and involvement with product allocation/budgeting
