Project Strategy
The Federal Way Community Center has served as a vital community hub since opening in 2008—promoting enrichment, fitness, and education for residents of all ages. After sixteen years of near-continuous use, the facility’s locker rooms, showers, saunas, and family cabanas began to show significant wear from constant moisture exposure. The City of Federal Way’s renovation initiative sought not only to address these functional issues but to elevate the entire experience for visitors.
The Locker Room Renovations Project goes beyond surface improvements; it represents a commitment to sustainability, longevity, and community well-being. The redesign introduced enhanced ventilation, improved water-resistant finishes, and modern, accessible layouts that support inclusivity and comfort.
Great Floors Commercial helped bring this renovation to life, installing the full ceramic tile package with products from Daltile. The pairing of Kaleidoscope Mosaic and Picket tiles delivers a distinctive pattern that moves with color and texture, adding depth and personality to the space—mirroring the energy of the community it supports.
From the renewed locker rooms and showers to the family cabanas, every element was crafted to ensure durability, hygiene, and timeless appeal. The result is a rejuvenated community asset that honors the original mission of the facility—supporting wellness and connection—while setting a new standard for design and functionality in public recreation environments.
