Rainier Beach High School stands as a powerful story of resilience, advocacy, and transformation. Located in one of the most diverse communities in the nation, the students, families, and neighborhood leaders fought for years to secure the long-overdue funding their school deserved. Today, the new Rainier Beach campus represents far more than a modern learning environment—it’s a reflection of community pride and cultural identity.

Designed by Bassetti Architects in partnership with Moody Nolan, the LEED Platinum-targeted facility embraces sustainability and inclusivity at every turn. Great Floors Commercial partnered with the design and construction team to deliver flooring solutions that balance environmental performance with long-term durability. Over 10,000 square yards of Tarkett LinoFloor xf² were installed throughout academic and common areas, chosen for its renewable content, low maintenance requirements, and timeless aesthetic that complements the school’s vibrant design palette.

For all quarry and porcelain tile, Daltile products were specified to provide a durable, easy-to-maintain surface solution across restrooms, locker rooms, commercial kitchen and high-traffic areas. The interplay of texture, tone, and color supports the architectural vision of an inviting, student-centered environment that celebrates diversity and innovation.

From aerospace and robotics labs to collaborative learning zones and cultural gathering spaces, Rainier Beach High School reflects the power of community-driven design. It’s a campus built not just for education, but for empowerment—where every space reinforces the message that perseverance and partnership can transform possibility into reality.
