Big Ten Network

Project Strategy

The Big Ten Network (BTN) is an American sports network based in Chicago, Illinois. With studio's fully dedicated to coverage of Big Ten Conference Sports, including the dominant Football play and huge fan base and following of the Big 10. Studio A was a full redesign and studio renovation with scopes including demo, floor preparation to ensure exceptional flatness required for live broadcast for HD TV Broadcasting, showcasing the beautiful design and installation of the complex (9) style and colors of Tarkett Vinyl tile and plank, with final selections made from 100's of samples provided. The pattern installation included CNC precutting of vinyl tile, and templates to aide in the complex field installation of this beautiful multi use studio. Re:Source New Jersey handled all sampling, specifications, estimating, budgeting, procurement, logistics and Project Management and our Worldwide Studio expertise. The complex installation was handled by Starnet partner member, Commercial Carpet Consultants, Inc. Ram Board was used to protect this beautiful installation, and Spraylock adhesive was used to allow immediate use, and protect against the heavy rolling loads of studio environments with wheeled camera loads and anchor platforms.

Studio design and successful installation is a Team Sport. We had a great team including the design team at Jack Morton, Studio Fabricator Dimensional Worldwide, Re:Source New Jersey Commercial Flooring and our install partner Commercial Carpet Consultant. The Project is for sure worthy of a National Flooring Championship..!

Unique Installation Challenge Strategy

Complex pattern Installation with 9 different styles and colors of Tarkett vinyl tile and plank, CNC precut tiles and templates to help aide in quick studio installation durations. Studios require specific slab requirements to ensure broadcasting function and aesthetics, and Spraylock adhesive help resolve rolling load impressions that are common with troweled on adhesives and heavy rolling loads.

Challenges of pulling of a successful installation outside of Re:Source New Jersey installation regions, requires true collaboration and trust, partnering with local market Starnet members. The Starnet conferences and meetings provide the networking to meet and get to know these fellow partners and members to pull off these successful complex collaborated installations nationwide. Kudos to Starnet Networking events, and on this one, our trusted partner Commercial Carpet Consultants and its great installation crew that handled this complex studio installation.
