Project Strategy
Galesburg Public Library built a new state of the art facility to dramatically improve upon their current library housed in a humble, dated strip mall. Their goal was to create a new space that could serve as a go to gathering space for the small community they served. With a strong focus on creating a fun, safe and relaxing atmosphere that catered to all ages this new building has quickly become a cornerstone of the community.
Getting to this point was not without its challenges, however. During the initial budgetary bid phase, they struggled to balance their hopes and dreams with the fiscal confines of the grant they had received. I, along with all of the other trades, were called on to provide a value engineered option with the intent of providing options to help them achieve the spirit of their dream. We put our heads together with our J&J rep and got to work. We were able to recommend an alternative that not only fit their budget and concept of design, but helped make their dream a reality.
