Project Strategy
The School of Science & Technology Hill Country College Prep High School opened in the Fall of 2024 as the first College Prep High School in San Antonio’s Northwest region.
The project involved the construction of a three-story, 66,000-square-foot building with a steel superstructure, cold-formed metal framing, and a combination of stucco and metal panel cladding. The campus features unique steel shade structures and canopies, along with a hardscape courtyard and a new turf soccer field. Inside, the school offers a variety of spaces, including classrooms, offices, a gymnasium, and specialized maker spaces. The interior design incorporates linear lighting, luxury vinyl tile, and vinyl composition tile throughout.
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
One of the primary challenges was coordinating material deliveries and managing the logistics of stocking the job site, ensuring smooth operations while working within the constraints of an active campus environment.
A unique aspect of the project was the installation of a triangular flooring pattern in the corridors, which added an intricate design element and required precise planning and execution. Despite the challenges, all tasks were successfully completed, and the new building was ready for use at the start of the 2024 school year.
