The Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, Wisconsin, is a ground-breaking feat of healthcare innovation that redefines excellence in patient care, design, and sustainability. This seven-story, 475,000-square-foot medical center is the largest medical center to open in 2024. With over 50 clinics in this facility, they provide centralized service connected by hallways instead of highways.
Eastpark is home to the innovative UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, the only comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin approved by the National Cancer Institute. This center is at the cutting edge of cancer treatment. At any one time, there are hundreds of active cancer clinical trials at the UW Health Carbone Cancer Center. Through research and collaboration with partners across the state, the U.S. and even the world, patients have access to new and novel treatments and interventions that can improve the lives of others.
Sergenian’s partnered with Uzin to provide a complete system warranty under all carpet and resilient flooring by making Uzin the exclusive manufacturer used for their mitigation system, levelers, patches, primers and adhesives used on all carpet and resilient flooring. All resilient flooring on the project received a full epoxy mitigation system with a minimum 3/16” pour of Uzin NC 150. Coordinating the mitigation system with all of the other trades working in the space was a daily task but it was well worth the effort because it allowed our flooring installers maximize production by walking into areas that were install ready.
Clearstory was used to track over 3,850 hours of labor along with any associated materials, equipment or deliveries tied to that labor on 180 T&M tags. Those T&M tags were part of the 60 change order requests that totaled $1,500,000 on this project. Without clearstory, it would have been very difficult to track T&M and COR’s work with all of the crews that were on site between the two towers. The owner and the GC both appreciated the timeliness and detail included in the tags and the change order requests.
All carpet scraps from the installation were recycled by Sergenian’s and their fully comprehensive reclamation program.
