Project Strategy
This project consisted of removing and replacing the existing carpet in a historic building. The history museum, a popular attraction in downtown Greensboro, helps share the past of how Greensboro came to be and the defining moments in the city's history. The carpet was installed in the major traffic areas as well as the spiral staircase that connected all three floors. With curved walls and odd angles, the installers had to be precise in their cuts and use of waste to ensure everything was installed correctly. After encountering asbestos in part of the exhibit room, self level was used to fix the drastic height disparity left behind from the demo. This install took several visits, as the museum was only closed on Mondays and we had to work around special events to precisely plan what could be done at what time.
