Project Strategy
Set in the Historic Marshall Fields Building, The office for Havas Chicago, a creative advertising agency, evokes an eclectic, funky feel with a focus on collaborative and celebratory spaces. This office feels more like a vintage hotel than a corporate office. The palette relies on an array of varying textures and patterns to create a layered, nuanced atmosphere to stimulate creativity. We used the flooring palette to accentuate different zones throughout the space. Mohawk’s Chromatic Cadence creates a golden, velveteen field throughout the open office, sprinkled with floral inset carpets to define the intimate collaboration areas. Mannington’s customizable LVT helped us create complimentary patterns in neighboring social spaces. Tarkett Adaptt defines the entry lounge and hidden speakeasy to create a vintage diamond patterned floor, which gives those spaces energy and character. Adjacent to that, we used Mannington Wood in a herringbone pattern for the break room, giving it a softer but still dynamic atmosphere.
