Project Strategy
The Hingham Foster Elementary School project is a groundbreaking, state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the diverse educational needs of up to 605 students from Pre-K through 5th grade. Spanning 126,385 sq. ft., the school’s forward-thinking design includes collaborative grade-level “neighborhoods,” expanded spaces for Special Education and Kids in Action (KIA) programs, and administrative offices, as well as athletic fields and event areas. The flooring selection was integral to the project, chosen to enhance functionality, durability, and aesthetics while supporting dynamic, project-based learning. Its eco-friendly materials, including recycled content and low VOC emissions, align with the school’s commitment to sustainability and its net-zero ready, energy-efficient design. The flooring’s slip-resistant and noise-reducing properties further ensure safety and comfort for students and staff, creating a cohesive and inspiring environment.
Valued at $113 million, this highly energy-efficient, all-electric facility has attracted significant local press for its innovative approach and dedication to sustainability. The project addresses critical district needs, such as expanding PreK and Special Education programs, while creating spaces for community activities and events.
