Project Strategy
The flooring for the new Doherty Memorial High School (DMHS) in Worcester was carefully selected to complement the classic and timeless color palette of the school’s design. Neutral tones were used in larger spaces and corridors, with vibrant gold accents added to special common areas, creating a cohesive yet dynamic aesthetic. Durability and low maintenance were key factors in the flooring choice, ensuring it can withstand the heavy foot traffic of a prominent high school while remaining easy to care for over decades.
In addition to its practicality and design appeal, the flooring contributed to the building’s achievement of LEED Gold certification by meeting low-emitting materials and healthy materials credits. The project has garnered attention from local media outlets such as Worcester Telegram, Worcester Guardian, Worcester Business Journal, Mass Live, Boston 25 News, and Spectrum News 1.
The team is proud to have contributed to this inspirational, light-filled, and flexible design, which will serve the students and the Worcester community for many years to come.
