Project Strategy
Lake Champlain Chocolates Flagship store on Pine Street underwent a complete renovation of the existing retail and café space. Truex Cullins reimagined the shopping experience, which celebrates the art of chocolate with a hot chocolate bar and invites visitors to watch how small batch specialties, ice creams and pastries are made. The interior finishes are a nod to the company’s 40-year history in Vermont.
New England Floor Covering was contracted to complete the renovation of floor finishes to meet their existing slate and VCT floors. The most challenging part of our process was prepping the existing slab, which was sloping and imperfect, for this we relied on Mapei products. The short timeframe presented by the client was an additional hurdle. For the main space, we installed Hallmark Avenue Mulholland Oak, glued to the existing concrete slab. Behind both work stations, we installed Tarkett Granit Safe-T Eclipse, with Tarkett 925 adhesive. To sweeten this project, we were also contracted to fit up another Lake Champlain Chocolate location, in Stowe Vermont, the following year.
