Project Strategy
This project consisted of all common areas , ballrooms, and meeting rooms at the DuPont Country Club located in Wilmington, Delaware. The Country club specializes in hosting events such as wedding receptions, corporate luncheons and dinners, DuPont Corporate events, golf outings, and many more specialty events along with catering to their memberships needs in their two restaurants located in the main building. They are closed during the months of January and February, and very busy throughout the rest of the year so we needed to make sure we could be in and out in two months. This update to their flooring needed to have a high end look, and needed to make sense for areas where food is served, golfers walk in and out, and guests are welcome. The design needed to be show stopping, but also practical at the same time and we believe we accomplished that for the client. One of the greatest outcomes that came from a challenge was the on-site custom inlaid borders throughout the main hall. The modern approach to borders puts a much needed level of detail into the long main hall making a beautiful entry to the main ballroom and meeting rooms.
Single Source Interior Contractor Award Strategy
The DuPont Country Club and Tri-State Carpet, Inc. have partnered together for over 20 years for various projects in their buildings. The Country Club had 25 year old patterned Axminster carpet (installed by Tri-State), that still looked beautiful, but was dated. When it was time to update their carpet the Country Club called the designer Linda Boyden, and Tri-State, to work together to come up with a modern, visually evocative design that fit in with their newly updated blue corporate colors. We were able to work with Linda, and Tarkett to figure out solutions with custom patterns and borders while making sense for their clientele. Meetings and negotiations for the project started in March 2022 and after multiple changes, selections were made and we installed the new carpet in January and February 2024. We had multiple crews on site to ensure timely installation to meet the clients deadline. The outcome was more beautiful than expected and we hope that we can be involved in the process when they update in another 20 years!
