Project Strategy

The CHI Health Center, Omaha’s premier convention venue, was due for a flooring update. They sought a simpler, modern carpet design to refresh their event space, so they turned to the experts! Drawing inspiration from the nearby Riverfront revitalization, we selected cool, neutral tones and incorporated geometric and flowing patterns to reflect various elements of the project. After numerous meetings and color samples, we custom-colored each pattern to their precise specifications and created digital renderings for approval. Tarkett Powerbond Hybrid was chosen for its durability, design flexibility, and the benefits of the Powerbond System. Despite a challenging installation schedule, we successfully met their deadlines and installed a stunning, high-quality design!

Single Source Interior Contractor Award Strategy

MECA was seeking a modern design for the CHI Health Center that allowed the carpeting to serve as a neutral yet stylish backdrop for large events. The carpeting needed to enhance the overall ambiance while also offering the durability required to withstand the wear and tear at a busy convention center.

Commercial Flooring Systems was inspired by the flowing movement of the Missouri River along with the Omaha Riverfront revitalization project. Each carpet style was carefully selected to complement the existing architecture of the CHI Health Center but also integrate these new Riverfront design elements such as flowing lines, organic patterns, and the fluid movement of water.

Tarkett Powerbond hybrid carpet was carefully chosen due to its durability, design options and properties of the Powerbond system. Through extensive collaboration with the end user, we were able to custom color each option to meet their aesthetic needs. The custom carpet simplifies the visual clutter commonly found in large convention spaces with its refined color palette of subtle shades of blue and other neutral color tones.

This renovation project presented a significant challenge due to the need to work around their event schedule. We collaborated closely with the Director to coordinate timelines with manpower and successfully met their tight schedule—all while delivering a high-quality installation.
