Project Strategy
Newark Airports' new stunning Terminal A is a massive improvement to the Newark airport and New Jersey travelers. Its $2.7 Billion dollar cost was the largest investment by NJ-NYC Port Authorities 101-year history. Its 32 gates are designed in comforting and relaxing earth-tone pallets. With the Milliken custom patterned (32 tile repeat) the star of the show is in the holding (waiting and boarding) areas.
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
Challenging installation with large custom pattern Milliken project with 32 tile repeat, and 33 terminal holding (waiting) gate areas, all with separate pattern layout drawings and start points. From Milliken custom design and layouts, order Logistics and handling a total of 142 skids of carpet tile for the project, and then delivery and loading into the new terminal under construction without a freight elevator active. As in most recent large projects, construction delays caused finished flooring to be delayed, and then pressured to mobilize and perform the full installation as a just-time service coinciding with finish before ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening dates.
Flying High, The Re:Source team is proud to have worked with Gensler, Milliken, and Newark Airport to accomplish this large install.
