Project Strategy
This project was a replacement of flooring in a building over 100 years old. The challenges included working with the Church that held the importance of keeping the history and design intent from a Catholic Seminary that began construction in 1869. We also had deteriorated subfloors , high moisture issues, and two flights of stairs that had to be completely rebuilt while maintaining the appearance of exposed tread , riser and spindles.
The Church , GC , and Architectural firm all are extremely happy with the end results.
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
Restoration and update of flooring in a building built in 1912, while keeping historical appearances features.
Complete rework of the subfloor with self levelers , moisture mitigation , replacement of wood substrates and stair tread risers.
Work had to occur with attention being kept to not effect existing decorative and historical properties.
We worked closely with our Mapei representative for appropriate , warranted products.
