Mannington Amtico Flooring was a perfect fit for this project. The precut Amtico flooring patterns supported the budget-conscious effort. The patterns were used as a design technique to establish wayfinding in walkways to common areas including sitting areas, dining, general store, beauty shop, game room, and wellness room on the first floor. The common areas also incorporated unique patterns to create “carpet-like” areas in sitting areas along with common space patterns that fit the era of the building. Amtico products and colorways blended well with the required historical preservation parameters for existing terrazzo flooring to remain. Mannington gave me the means to make the entire building truly a remarkable place on all floors with Carpeting, LVT, and LVP all requirements specifically met the needs of historical preservation and modern-day use. Amtico has given a Historical Place a New Life for people to live for many years.
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
Maywood Supportive Living is located at 316 Randolph Street, Maywood, IL? 60153. The property was built in 1930 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. The redevelopment preserved the building’s significant past of the former Baptist Retirement Home by providing new layouts and interior finishes. The building lay in ruins for many years and incurred significant damage. The existing conditions posed challenges for all trades involved. Extra care with floor prep was needed. As well as attention to detail when tieing into treasured remaining architecture.
