Project Strategy
Re:Source New Jersey was a trusted partner of Showman Fabricators (studio design-builders), and Jack Morton (Architect-Design Studio), to help with The NFL's ambitious new West Coast headquarters in Hollywood Park, featuring Five Studios. The largest Studio includes 6,000sf of intense, 9 style/color pattern design layout with Tarkett Centiva vinyl tile and plank flooring. Installed with Spraylock adhesive to ensure heaving rolling load compatibility, and slabs made perfect with Ardex patch and self-level. The Studio is used for "GameDay" and "Total Access" programming, with 360-degree camera views, so the striking floor design and installation have full presence in every shot.
The project also included 4 other studios of similar vinyl tile and plank design, including anchor (talent) platforms.
As Re:Source New Jersey is 2,700 miles from LA, Full collaboration and partnership with a quality and trusted local installation partner was needed. Based on our Starnet relationships, the choice was easy and Universal Metro was our chosen true partner.
The project was only successful due to the full collaboration between Jack Morton (Arch&Design), Showman Fabricators building these studios, with Re:Source and Universal Metro's partnership to ensure the highest quality professional installation services.
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
Resource's distance from LA, required partnership and collaboration, Universal Metro was our chosen and trusted Starnet local member chosen. The project started out with concerns of floor slab flatness and levelness, as well as slab cracking concerns.
Together Re:Source New Jersey and Universal Metro performed thorough inspections of slabs, including Wagner RH% Slab moisture testing, Gas Meter full surveying and marking of slabs, and slab settlement cracking review. We then provided full solutions on-the-spot, and were immediately approved to chip/grind down high spots, Self-level low spots, V grind concerning settlement cracks and epoxy fill, all to ensure the best slab foundation (our canvas) before starting the elaborate 9 style/color pattern layout install on the 6,000sf main studio, which included stairs to a mezzanine and catwalk all which received Tarkett Centiva vinyl tile and plank flooring. As with most high end, unique and prestigious projects, stress breeds stress from the top down, and this project was no different. With already tight schedules, add in COVID related unforeseen delays, and then by the way your slab stinks and we need to resolve before we install, had all parties very concerned about completing on time. That is until the Re:Source New Jersey and Universal Metro teams mobilized and quickly offered solutions to get project back on schedule and then proceed with a great installation. Team work makes the dream work.
