The design for Borealis for this leading Midwest health care company, was inspired by the Scandinavian countries of Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway and their landmarks. The North Skyway Elevator, stirred by the abundant saunas in Scandinavia, pairs a fun and clean wood structure at the exterior with a more traditional sauna at the interior. Taking on the look of a traditional Nordic Ski Chalet, the Feature Stair Elevator exteriors incorporate Rosemaling patterns at the doors, light wood patterned walls and vinyl floors and valances reminiscent of traditional scrolled railings. The carpet in Denmark’s main corridor utilizes a unique blue and white floral pattern based on the famous Royal Copenhagen dishware. Cross corridors pull in red and white in the Danish flag. Sweden’s Main Corridor uses Dala horses, flowers, and elements of traditional hand embroidery. Cross corridors incorporate blues and yellows from the Swedish flag and displays famous landmarks at the ends. Norway’s Main Corridor carpet contains floral patterns inspired by traditional Norwegian Folk Costumes. The carpet in Finland’s Main Corridor, with bold colors, blocks and floral patterns, brings to mind famous Finnish prints. These diverse design concepts were brought together seamlessly by the experienced and creative team at Diverzify.
