Project Strategy
The 66,000 sf Merriam Community Center is a state-of-the-art facility for individuals and families to focus on their wellbeing. Image Flooring was involved early on with the Design Build phase of this project. Installation consisted of a 2-court gym floor (Tarkett OmniSport 7.1mm), an elevated track of two colors (Tarkett Omnisport 12mm), a Fitness rubber flooring system capable of handling extreme weight (Tarkett Dropzone Elite 22.5mm), and a slip resistant 'wet area' floor (ECORE Aqueous) used in spaces near the indoor pool. Offices and back of the house rooms consisted of Mannington and Milliken carpet tiles, J&J walk off carpet was installed at the entries and lobby and Tarkett base is throughout the building. The design is fun and playful, bringing each space together with finishes that have the appropriate properties for their use--providing safety, longevity and appeal!
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
The 2-court gym floor was quite the installation challenge, all of the striping painted by hand. Our talented and factory trained installers used countless measurements, miles of painters tape and undeniable patience to complete the courts. Basketball, Volleyball and Pickleball are defined by blue, black and white game lines.
