Chief Joseph Middle School is located in West Richland, Washington. Richland is one of three rapidly growing cities of the Tri-Cities. Great Floors and Chief Joseph Middle School worked together to come up with a product that would work for the school district to replace the 20-year-old soiled carpet and brighten the space. Along with updating the aesthetic and feel of the school, ease of maintenance was also deciding factor in the product selection. There were limited quantities stocked of Mannington Color Anchor LVT that could arrive within the time frame. Fortunately, we found one that worked perfectly. The layout of the school also dictated the design. The school district wanted to break up the long expansive hallways with some color, so they decided on an accent and pattern to break up the space.
Unique Installation Challenge Strategy
We faced multiple challenges including procurement, logistics, time constraints as well as the age of the originally installed flooring. We had only 11 consecutive days over Chief Joseph’s Christmas break to demo 3,800 SF of broadloom that was installed over 20 years prior and install two colors of LVT with a pattern. Our team had to coordinate with several warehouse locations to ensure delivery of materials in the short time frame that was given. After extensive grinding, moving, changes and challenging weather, we finished the project two days ahead of schedule.
