CAE provides advanced, virtual-to-live training simulation facilities for the U.S. Department of Defense, Commercial Aviation and the global healthcare market. With their clients’ interest having mainly transitioned to on-site services over the last few years, CAE’s executives and their marketing specialists in Montreal formed a plan to shift their corporate image to better suit their mission of offering cutting-edge technology. Their vision: transform their conventional, dated looking headquarters into an open, welcoming and modern hub with a design that reflects their top-level expertise. Project management experts LEM and the team at A2DESIGN brilliantly ensured that these objectives were met by developing a distinct, modern-type, collaborative environment with fresh, tasteful colors and materials; creatively integrating quality flooring products by Johnsonite, Solflex, Altro and Milliken. This project phase consisted in a complete remodel of the administration pavilion, involving the demolition of the second level to incorporate an atrium with conference room and lobby space that showcases a fighter aircraft and medical simulator. The flooring installation by Solathèque was challenged with unexpected, severe cracking in the floor slab of the reception area. Large, demanding concrete restoration work was proficiently executed with the support of Ardex’s technical staff and products, such as the P51 Primer, K 13 Premium Self-Leveling Underlayment, UI 740 Flexbone Uncoupling Membrane, X77 Mictotec Fiber Reinforced Tile and Stone Mortar, and FL Sanded Grout. The scientific community of CAE now exhibits an impressive new centre of operations with vibrant energy; attractive to a contemporary, motivated market, in search of top-quality training simulation solutions.
