Occupied Renovations, a StarNet Dealer and finish renovation firm outside Atlanta, Georgia, renovated their company headquarters in 2019. There were several goals of the renovation; to create an energetic space which offers better work and functional flow for all employees, to create a “showroom” type atmosphere which highlights multiple manufacturers’ products that Occupied Renovations specifies and installs, and to provide an environment which allows for a greater headcount while offering spaces that are configurable for future growth as well. The new design of the space focuses on an open concept and creates numerous collaborative and teaming areas strategically positioned throughout the office. Over half of the office area was renovated; for five (5) weeks, employees shared space with other teammates during the renovation process. Time was of the essence to complete the renovation as quickly as possible due to this. As the newly renovated office would also serve as a showroom, the seamless transition of finishes became paramount and designing the space to allow the finishes to easily transition from one space to another proved challenging. The Design Team at Occupied Renovations incorporated a main corridor of polished concrete which would serve as the transition anchor piece between numerous flooring products. Occupied Renovations’ newly renovated space highlights and incorporates both broadloom and modular carpet tiles, luxury vinyl flooring, rubber flooring, vinyl composition tile, and ceramic tile flooring. Additionally, to assist with overall costs, many of the flooring manufacturers specified offered a deep discount on materials or kindly donated materials. The new office design has allowed Occupied Renovations to double the number of spaces for employees while yet creating a contemporary and beautiful showroom we are proud to call home.
