The US Open is the highest attended annual sporting event in the world. Located in Flushing Queens, just a quick train ride from Manhattan. The new Louis Armstrong Stadium is 14,000 seat, retractable roof stadium, replacing the original 1978 outdated stadium. Who says being No 2 is not a great thing, The new Armstrong is the largest of its kind among the No 2 stadiums through out the sport. And who better to open the new stadium than Patrick McEnroe with an exhibition prior to the 2018 US Open start.
The open air stadium had limited finished flooring in seating/event areas of the stadium, but the inside presented lots of Azrock VET, VCT, miles of Johnsonite wall base, and carpets through out office and locker room areas. The project was way behind completion schedule, so installation challenges were thrown our way due to lack of work areas, deadlines and unfinished work by other trades causing further delays. Re:Source managed the process effectively working diligently with Hunt Construction the project CM to meet all milestones and providing a high quality installation for this great No 2.
