Located in the heart of Atlanta's Design Center district in Mid-town, is Mannington Commercial's new showroom.
Mannington opened the 14,500-square-foot facility to be used as a landing spot for customer visits, a workroom for designers, a place for industry partners to hold meetings as well as a training center.
The Design Center is strategically positioned between Mannington’s carpet operation in Calhoun, Georgia and its LVT operation in Madison, Georgia and serves as a home base for customer visits.
Mannington Commercials Design Center was designed by Corgan Associates, a Dallas-based design firm.
Abandoning the traditional reception desk, the design team created a relaxed living room environment with a fireplace, coffee bar, plush furnishings, and curated vignettes. Antique carpet beam ends and a hand-painted brick advertisement gave this adaptive reuse project an authentic feel while exposed neon is an unexpected cheeky touch in the kitchen.
Original exposed beams and 100+ year old brick stay true to the heritage of Mannington’s history and the history of the building, which was originally built in the 1880’s and was one of 17 buildings that served as Atlanta’s stockyards located on the rail lines that still run behind the building.
Wood reclaimed from the site is utilized as shelves and benches, while artwork made from carpet beams and a refurbished sample tufting machine allow Mannington to tell their manufacturing story throughout the space. The concrete floor has insets of Mannington Flooring, and serves as a picture frame to emphasis the range of flooring options.
