Performance and branding were the driving force behind this project for a state of the art Physical Therapy facility in New York City's Columbus Circle. The vibrant colors of Ecore recycled rubber flooring were a great start. New York Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy has a strong brand presence in their market and with Ecore, I was able to show a wide range of color options that met the client's branding image. An added bonus is that Ecore's Everlast Performance product combined the unique look of the vivid blue flooring that fit the decor with an underlayment for acoustic characteristics and underfoot comfort that were needed for this work environment. Because the underlayment was laminated at the factory, it was a simple single layer installation that took a lot less time than a double glue down that's usually required over an underlayment.
There were floor preparation hurdles to overcome as well - varying height differences from previous build-outs throughout the space, existing VAT present, old adhesive residue. The existing floors were removed, sub-floor was shot-blasted, and CMP LF210 Premium self level was poured to provide a smooth and level surface to work with.
